Instagram QR code for your business
Your profile in the window, on a piece that won't fade in the sun like a sticker.
1Content
Also accepts tel:, mailto: or any address. The shorter, the better it prints.
Always use the guest network: anyone who scans the code can read the password.
Or start from a template
2Code design
On the 3D object the logo becomes a single-color silhouette.
3Turn your QR into a 3D object
Up to 28 characters. A short text multiplies scans.

What link to use
Use your profile's clean address: instagram.com/youraccount. Nothing else. Avoid copying the URL from the app, since it usually drags along tracking parameters (?igshid=…) that lengthen the link, increase the code's module count, and add nothing.
Instagram has its own internal code (the 'nametag'), but it only works from inside the app. A standard QR code works with any phone's camera, whether the app is installed or not, which is why it's better for a storefront.
Where it works best
- Storefront window, at eye level: scannable from the street even when the shop is closed.
- Counter, next to the register: the moment of paying has the highest willingness to engage.
- Fitting rooms: works surprisingly well in fashion retail.
- Tables, in hospitality: paired with the menu code.
- Fairs and markets: a table stand with the QR code saves you from spelling out the account name.
The text matters more than the code
A code with no context doesn't get scanned. 'FOLLOW US' works; '@youraccount' works even better, since it also serves people who'd rather search you up by hand. If your username is short, put it in the relief: the code and the text reinforce each other.
Common questions
Is a standard QR code or Instagram's nametag better?
The standard QR code, unless your audience is exclusively Instagram app users. The nametag only scans from inside the app.
Does the code stop working if I change my username?
Yes. The link points to instagram.com/youraccount, so if you change the name you'll need to regenerate and reprint. That's the main reason not to change it.
Can I put the Instagram logo in the center?
The logo is a registered trademark with usage conditions. To avoid issues, use a camera emoji or your own icon.
Can I make one for TikTok, Facebook or WhatsApp?
Yes: any address works. For WhatsApp use a wa.me link with your number; for TikTok, tiktok.com/@youraccount.
What size do I need for a storefront?
If scanned from the sidewalk (a meter or more away), the code should be at least 10 cm a side, meaning a 120 mm plaque.
