Why a wedge and not a stand with a leg
Easel-style stands with a separate leg look nice on screen and are a disaster on a restaurant table: they tip over, catch on the tablecloth and need print supports. The solid wedge solves all three. It has no moving parts, weighs enough not to tip from a bump, and its angled face looks upward, so it prints with no supports at all.
The 55-degree tilt is chosen so a seated person sees the code head-on. Any more vertical and the phone's camera would pick up ceiling reflections; any flatter and you'd have to lean over the table.

Details that make a difference
- A short text helps a lot: 'OUR MENU' or 'LEAVE US A REVIEW' multiplies scans compared to a bare code, because people need to know what will happen before pulling out their phone.
- Watch out for candles and light tablecloths: a white stand on a white tablecloth disappears. Pick a base with color.
- Print two per table if it's a long one: cheaper than losing scans.
- Non-slip base: a couple of drops of silicone or a small felt pad on the base keeps it from sliding on polished surfaces.
Common questions
Does it stand steady or tip over?
The wedge rests on its entire base and the center of gravity stays very low. At 80 mm and 15% infill it weighs enough to stay put when bumped.
Does it need print supports?
No. The geometry is designed so the code's face looks upward with no overhangs.
Can I print it hollow to save material?
Yes: drop infill to 10% and use 2 perimeters. The piece stays stable because the volume alone gives it enough weight.
Does it work outdoors, on a patio?
If you print it in PETG or ASA, yes. In PLA, direct summer sun can warp it.
How many do I need for a restaurant?
One per table for the menu, plus one or two at the bar for reviews and WiFi. It usually pays off compared to commercial stands from the sixth or seventh unit onward.
