Why a coaster instead of a plaque
A coaster doesn't hang or sit at an angle: it lies flat on the bar or the table, so it doesn't need mounting holes or a wedge that takes up space. It's the right format when the customer is going to have the object right in front of them while they drink, not just walking past it.
The layout is always fitted to a circle: the code and the text are sized to fit inside the square inscribed in that circle, so they never get cut off by the curved edge, whatever size you pick.

Printing tips
- No need for high infill: 10-15% is enough, it's a flat piece that carries no load.
- Matte PLA or PETG: gloss under bar lighting creates reflections that make it harder to scan.
- Light base for cold drinks: condensation on a dark base reduces the visual contrast of the code.
Common questions
Does it need holes or a stand?
No. The coaster sits flat on its whole surface; it has no mounting holes or angled base, unlike the table stand or the wall plaque.
What size should I pick?
Between 80 and 90 mm covers most glasses and cups. For wide wine glasses, or if the text doesn't fit with 1.5 mm modules, go up to 100-110 mm.
Does it hold up to spilled drinks?
PLA and PETG don't absorb water in normal use, but they're not sealed pieces: if it gets wet, dry it soon so liquid doesn't pool in the relief.
Can I add text besides the QR code?
Yes, an optional short line of text appears above the code, inside the same circle. Long phrases shrink the letters a lot.
Is it dishwasher-safe?
PETG holds up to hot water better than PLA. For daily use in a bar, PETG is the safer choice.
